About Willey
Willey has seventy-three people and a church at the middle of it, and that's the whole appeal. Your children would go to the Carroll district. Tell us you're interested in Willey and we'll call you when a house is available.
Willey is one of Carroll County's inland towns, meaning it grew up around a church rather than a railroad. The St. Mary's congregation dates from 1882. By about 1911 the parish had built a brick church whose spire, in the words of the county history, was the prominent object in the country for miles around. The Greteman Brothers store was run by the same family from 1887 until 1978. It was taken apart, moved and reassembled at Living History Farms near Des Moines, where it still stands.
Served by the Carroll Community School District.
