About Arcadia
Arcadia gives you a small town and a short drive to Carroll. Your children would ride to Ar-We-Va in Westside. If you want to be here, the best thing you can do is say so early. Tell us you're watching Arcadia and we'll call you when something comes up.
Arcadia began as a Chicago and North Western station called Tip Top. The name came from the watershed divide that runs north and south through the town, separating water headed for the Mississippi from water headed for the Missouri. Landowner I. N. Voris renamed it Arcadia when he platted the townsite and talked the railroad into changing the station name. In 1901 the North Western straightened its roadbed and abandoned the track through town, leaving Arcadia about half a mile from the railroad it was built on.
Served by the Ar-We-Va Community School District, based in Westside.
