About Ralston

Ralston is the smallest incorporated town in the county, so you'll know your neighbors. Your children would go to Glidden-Ralston. Tell us you want a house in Ralston and we'll call you when one comes up.

The spot was Slater Siding, a North Western passing track just short of the Greene County line. A station was established in 1891. The first merchant put up a frame building in a cornfield, and eventually got a post office. For most of the twentieth century this town of well under two hundred people was the headquarters of West Central Cooperative. It was the largest farmer cooperative in Iowa.

Served by the Glidden-Ralston Community School District.
